Our agency represents many foreign writers in Romania. If anyone should have asked us who we were proud to present, I would have said at once: Thomas Mann, Vladimir Nabokov, Charles Bukowski, Carlos Fuentes, Ocatvio Paz, Scott F. Fitzgerald, J.D. Salinger, and the list could have continued with many poets and prose writers, without even crossing my mind to enumerate non-fiction authors, untill I had the chance to " view" Kjell Nordström and Jonas Ridderstråle, who held their first conference "Meet the Thinkers" organized by the publisher Publica, in Bucharest. I said "view" because these two professors performed in a unique show: two brilliant minds in free display, who enchanted and inoculated with a funky thinking, a room full of more than 500 people!

Very serious and innovative concepts can be presented in a very amusing way. This has been proven by Jonas and Kjell at the conference Funky Business in Karaoke Capitalism. Rarely I have witnessed such pleasant moments listening things which should push us all towards inner reflection. The presence of Andrei Plesu underlined the well-inspired title: Meet the Thinkers. Publica offered a unique event in Romania, excellently organized.

I was present to most of the conferences held by the great speakers who passed through Bucharest: Salome, Covey, Pease, Goleman. But the encounter with Nordström & Ridderstråle was particularly special. The whole conference room was electrified, the most interesting information presented in a perfect, adequate show, without fake notes. The announcement made in the beginning, presenting the opening speech of Andrei Plesu, puzzled me at first, but afterwards I understood what an intelligent catalyst it was for the public, anticipating most of the audience expectations of "what might be the meaning of Karaoke Capitalism"

As I was myself involved in the organization of such events, I have to underline the fact that the whole reel of the presentation was without any fault or stumbles and lacked especially that unpleasant "bridal" style of a wedding with gifts - style which I noticed was fully present at other conferences of this nature. Congratulations to the organizers for the professional expertise and in fact for the idea of inviting Kjell and Jonas.
